Greatspears are great against him. Running heavy attack plows the spear into him with a nasty lingering hitbox.

But seriously. Don't give him time to cast. Run right at him. Bloodhound's step onto his face. keep him pressured.

The arena has height differences, which can help block some of his magic attacks (could never kill him fast enough 😞).

only kill the bare minimum bosses before him, then he won't know anything

you can cheese him with frenzyflame stone as well, the timing is precise, so check out a no hit run for it, you can script him easily.

EDIT: this only applies if you go in for the first time and he is monologuing before the fight
