Faith vs Dex/Faith
So I'm in the Altus Plateau around level 105 and I'm starting to think Dex/Faith is kind of pointless. I've been using Holy and Flame Art imbuements but I'm sitting at 30 Dex/30 Faith and thinking "only the Faith is helping me here". Am I missing something or does it really only make sense max out the only stat that's really helping you? In what context would Dex/Faith be desirable?

Okay but I was thinking more in terms of melee weapons.

By the end most of my faith builds are using weapons mostly as stat sticks to hold ashes ...
however .....
Its hard not to recommend the coded sword for faith builds...

Yeah I JUST got this sword a minute ago and have already sombered it up as high as I can for now. Sure, I'll take a golden lightsaber.

Haven't used it in PvE, but an even Dex/Fai split gives you access to every damage type in the game due to the available infusions:
Keen (DEX)
Lightning (DEX)
Flame Art (FAI)
Sacred/Holy (FAI)
Cold (DEX+int)

And even though the Cold infusion doesn't scale the magic damage of the weapon to DEX, any cold weapon arts that use projectiles (like Ice Spear) scale equally with DEX as to INT.

And unlike a pure Faith build, Dex/Fai doesn't need to waste FP just to access Physical or Lightning damage. If you know the enemy's weakness, then pick the right weapon and smash them. You can save your FP for the big buffs like Golden Vow, Blessing's Boon, Black Flame Protection, etc.

You also get access to two additional utility weapons for NPC invader-type enemies: Angel's Wings (to prevent HP flask recovery) and Vyke's War Spear (to stun NPCs with Madness).

There's probably more benefits than this, but it should be enough to make a case for it. But if you don't like what you have, you can always pay Renalla a visit for the respec (just make a save backup before you do that).

for caster builds, dex is leveled up for increasing cast speed. if you rely just on weapon damage scaling from stats, you just level up what you need for those weapons

Yeah but even then, the casting speed increase is negligible. Not something you would want to invest in heavily JUST for that, right?
not just for that, there are several gg dex/faith weapons. some im sad i cant use on str faith. dex faith is better if youre going with more of a caster focus imo, sure u can use a talisman but that takes a talisman slot for something you could be speced into. on that note i try not to use talismans i can get through a consumable effect unless need to double it up

Split stats can be ok. You don't need new weapons, unless you've got one that can't change the ashes of war on. There are bosses near the end that will be resistant to holy damage, where pure physical damage wins out.

Split stats like quality weapons, as i see it, is that it takes longer to hit the soft caps for bonuses to damage. Probably nothing to worry about if you're just at 30/30 but you may see slower damage boosts at 40 and 60. But that's my gut feeling as I haven't churned out the numbers (probably some build calculators out there).
