Elden Ring will not launch, I'm at a loss for what to do

I've had an issue with elden ring ever since I bought and installed it. The first time I tried to launch it, I pressed the green play button and it acted like it was launching and then nothing happened. No windows even popped up it just turned blue and said stop and then after a couple seconds it turned back to the green play button. This caused hours of frustration and I never found a fix for it nor another person that had the same problem. I eventually found that opening the games files and launching it through the application file worked but it caused the inappropriate activity error which meant I had to play offline. I didnt care all too much and played normally for over 60 hours. Just today I thought I would try again to fix the problem and started doing as much research as possible but once again i found no answers and no fixes I tried worked. So I reinstalled the game (I had done this a while bacik when I first got the game and it didnt work but I thought id try again). Now the same problem still persists and I cant even launch it through the application file either so Im completely unable to launch the game. Another thing I noticed while messing around in the files is that first whenever I try yo open the EAC eos it just pulls a blank window up for a split second and then it disapears even after being ran as admin and attempted reinstall, and second the actual EAC setup app does not work right. When I open it it has the normal menu but nothing works, I cant choose a game or uninstall or install it. There is a bit up text under the main blue button saying "EAC is not installed" but the button I would use to install it is grayed out and doesnt do anything. I'm completely at a loss for what to do here and why this stuff is happening, all I want to do is play my favorite game :( Please Help.

I dont think its a performance issue but ur smart to cover the bases

This sounds like EAC Installation issue or a windows internal fault

I do not know how you tried to reinstall EAC (strange way you descripe)

Normally a clean reinstall of EAC is done this way

delete the 'EasyAntiCheat_EOS' folder in C:\Program Files (x86)

then Use Registry Editor to delete all keys and values that had 'EasyAntiCheat_EOS' to do this search up "REGEDIT" in search.
right-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Find and look up the term EasyAntiCheat_EOS and delete any you can find by search again.
There normally have to be at least 3 folders to be found in the left side with the name EasyAntiCheat_EOS and you have to delete the whole folder.

Restart Windows

then go into elden ring's game files in the installation folder and navigate to easy anti cheat, and click on the install_easyanticheat_eos_setup.bat
a prompt will pop up and hit enter

If this does not help we need the windows event viewer crash log.

Thanks for helping me with this. I tried the steps you gave for reinstalling EAC but that didnt seem to fix it. I might have screwed it up tho, whenever I went to delete all files related to EAC eos in the REGEDIT it only showed 1 file instead of the 3 that you mentioned. Otherwise I followed the steps and it didnt seem to work.

So I opened up the Event Viewer and there is most defenitly a problem. Every single time I open elden ring it provides a error and it seems to switch between faulting applications. Most of them seem to be start_protected_game.exe, but a few times it was SearchHost.exe.

Copy / paste the most recent crash related to start_protected_game.exe since it's actually relevant to the issue at hand.

It is the Windows 11 bug.

Try ro run with a new windows Administrator profile.

I may be stupid but I created the new account and gave it admin privileges and when I try to sign in it loads for a min and then goes back to the screen where I choose the account and wont do anything when I click the sign in button. Im not sure why it wont let me enter a pin but I cant seem to sign in.

This sounds like the Windows is ready for a wipe and fresh install.

Yea Im done with this constant frustration. I swear I have the worst luck with this stuff, a similar thing happened on the PC that a built except it was just all around slow. I just wish I understood what causes this stuff. Thanks for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

This problem is caused by the windows upgrade from windows 10 to 11.

In your case Windows 11 is very faulty after the upgrade and you are forced to wipe the System and doing a fresh installation with a USB installation media.

Microsoft is not able to provide a 100% working upgrade functions since the upgrade from 9x to Windows xp

the bug can be from upgrading from 10 and from a fresh install windows 11 sucks

some manufacturers used a offline updated windows 10 image for installation of windows 11 and cause this way the same problem
