You need to reach an end game area and defeat one of the harder bosses in order to play the DLC. It's not a separate campaign, it's just more of the end game.

Have you thought about having people help you get through that game? Theres no shame in it, and a good amount of people enjoy co-oping. That's up to you though. :praisesun:

This isn't like a standard souls game in the sense that it has plenty of things to help you along the way ( Summons, Ashes, Arts of War...)

By the time you get to the end game, you should be good enough to play through it.

You can. You need to defeat only 2 bosses to get to the DLC and you can kill one right after another in a row.
Radahn as your first boss and Mogh as your second trough Varre's quest.

Why not ask for help?

Pretty sure any shard bearer is fine, Varre moves to Liurnia when you kill Godrick (who's the easiest shard bearer), and then you can continue his quest.

But Mohg (and his whole area) would be an INSANE difficulty spike if you do this skip, so it's a moot point. It's an end game area meant for RL100+ characters with fully upgraded weapons.

HERESY! The only way to enjoy this game, is to do a hitless, fist only, sl1, play-through. The god emperor is not pleased. Now if you’ll excuse me, I must plot my trek up thine staircase. My mom made chicken nuggies.

Radahn specifically is mentioned for plot reasons in the interviews.
But varre accepts any shardbearer, so radahn into Mogh is a least amount of bosses killed route.
Also killed Mogh at 20+0, so....

Why not ask for help?

Asking for help is for Bussies, be a man and smash your head into your monitor until the boss dies.

There have been two interviews with Miyazaki where he answers this question and a lot more. Google is your friend.

I don't know why you would want more content if you haven't finished the content already available...

You'll also need to be good enough to fight endgame bosses in order to progress in the DLC anyway...

Basically..finish your dinner first
