How do I appeal an unban?

No I wasn't cheating, I've beaten this game 7 times already, anyway on Nexus mods i imported a save file to just cut through the game, plus it said that it had all the items that I really didn't feel like grinding for? I'm now banned for 180 days, can i get unbanned for this or does this fall under tampering with game files, if it is I will patiently sit out this half a year ban and except what I have done. Thanks in advance if anyone even sees this discussion.

You probably got duped into downloading a "shortcut" save file which hacked every item into the game and the hackers fingerprints was all over it.

Importing other's save files is counted as cheating. You're not going to get unbanned regardless though, they don't unban people for any reason, including provable innocence.

importing saves is a terrible idea, there could be banned items in the character's inventories like fia's deathbed smalls. Next time just ask people for stuff on r/patchesemporium

Did you do the steps to change the identifier code in the save file? If not, that's your issue.

Each account has a unique code, which is pasted into the save file somewhere. So if you manually save your own files, you can just paste them back in since the codes already match, no hassle. If it's someone else's, you need to change the code to match your's first, which is a little more involved. If you don't and the codes are mismatched, then that results in a ban.

If you know what you're doing, it's perfectly fine. If you're just trying to figure things out sort of blind, that's when you can run into trouble.

Kind of weird how you can be banned in a mostly single player game?. I think they should just remove multiplayer features if you mod or cheat. But you should be able to play the game single-player and mod to your heart content.

That's exactly how it works, actually. Bans just force you to stay in offline mode.

They don't take bans off never seen 1 removed in 2 years.
You have to delete everything all saves all back ups turn cloud off and start game fresh and sit out 180 day ban. If you don't do steps ban rolls over until you do

in your case, you MIGHT be able to share elden ring in a family account, thus not paying for the game a second time. I tried this, and my new account also got banned, because the source/owner account was flagged. Delete the save file from your owner account, create a new game, fresh, then try to share the game with a different email address. I had to bake a fresh steam account, and repurchase the whole MF game+dlc. Please note save scumming between accounts does not generate a ban.***

You still need to wait the ban out. Deleting your saves just prevents you from getting banned again.
