Blocking GFN was a mistake.
There is no sane reason for Fromsoftware to ban GeForce Now from supporting the game.

I spent some time playing other games there at highest quality & good fps without having to pay thousands for gaming gear, I legit don't understand why From decided to block me out of using it for their game.

Cloud gaming is normal. Blocking games out of cloud gaming providers, given that games are sold separately in the store, is not normal.

You own the game and can use Remote Play on Steam to the same effect, right? So... you're not blocked from playing, just from using some remote servers to play. If you have two screens/machines, you can easily play elsewhere in your home from a server box.

GFN is not the lord and savior of streaming games.

I don't think you understood the OP. He can't afford an RTX 4080 to play Elden Ring at max settings. GFN provides that experience. It has nothing to do with where he's playing from.

Oh, well you don't need a 4080 to max out the settings for this game, even. Maybe it could provide smoother frame rates at higher fidelity, however, this isn't the only option. Also, I know it doesn't directly and entirely have to do with where he's playing from, but for the alternative I mentioned it absolutely does matter for setting it up.

I mean I can rent a server, install the software myself, and play. But since they rent me a server with disk space and not just a game session, I would have to pay 4 times more to have comparable experience, except I would have to do setup manually and the quality of internet connection & streaming software would often be worse even on the most premium rates.

If you mean to buy the server, that's payment upfront for hardware that will deprecate in a several years. Might be worth for some, might not be the best option for others.

So why limit your players? What gains do they have from doing that?
