Do you also use this controller to play on an XBox?
Have you updated its firmware?
Are you connecting via Bluetooth or USB?
yes, xbox one elite
no
yes
tried both, no difference
Also, just something anecdotal, before I bought my XBox Elite 2 controller, I used a regular Xbox One controller. When I updated its firmware, the controls were completely screwed up. I had to look up how to roll back the firmware update.

Figured it out, it seems Elden Ring's controls completely break if you have any other input devices other than mouse, keyboard and a single controller plugged in (of which I have a few).
So this means if I want to play I have to unplug all other devices every single time, which is a bit ridiculous... guess I'm not getting the DLC then...
You could do what I do - put all the wired input devices onto switched USB hub ports. I have a bunch of specialized flight sim devices so when I'm gaming (rather than flight simming) I just turn off all those ports.
