Only the Golden Order incantation school requires int and bloodflame dragon comunion ones arc and thats all. We can count with two hands (if you have all the fingers) the amount of incantations not being pure magic.
Im happy enough to be able to use holy pizzas in actually holy weak baddies.
Edit: Ok....you need more than 10 fingers....we can also count with the feet if you want.
Well....the seal does scales with int and faith so there you go! A-A scaling.
I know there's very few incantations that use Intelligence.
My point is, that small number includes all but two of the incantations that do holy damage, and of the two pure faith holy damage spells that do exist, only one is actually useful for much. Maybe Elden Stars has some better uses in PvP or something, but as a PvE incantation it's hilariously bad, in my experience. So you really only have Wrath of Gold.
It just seems strange and annoying to me that my holy damage weapons scale with Faith exclusively, the holy damage Ashes of War scale with faith exclusively, but if I want to do that same damage type with spells, I need to invest in Intelligence (which doesn't help the weapons or weapon skills) to use them.
Yeah in your experience. As one of the most experienced casters around i can tell you that incantation well used rocks. You are supposed to cast it and go do something else, not just spam it.
And lets not forget Blackblade! Thats holy damage. Just go and play more, experiment yourself with dual seals of the same school and proper staffs, that will be enough to change your mind.
Anyway, back to my broader point, I am still curious if anything's been said about what kind or how much magic might be getting added.
Im avoiding trailers but saw enough to notice some spells.
One was a poor version of Stars of ruin, nearly instantly casted projectiles that follow your target.
The other and most curious was one character using different elements forming a arc, just like the deranged perfumers do with fire or flame of the Redmanes ash of war. This can be amazing if we are talking of a polyvalent item/weapon/spell to have a close range tool of various elements to exploit the monsters weakness.....lets just hope this is not just new perfumes (extremly limited use)
Other than that i refused to spoil me more! As a mainly caster i give a damn about the weapons (ok i care a little) so cant to see the new stuff.
