Well, 05 is crash to desktop and it’s actually a pretty common occurrence with games. I’m gonna assume that you’re meeting the minimum spec requirements so from the top of my head you could try:

Launching in admin mode
Making sure all drivers are up to date
Check your graphics settings tool for incompatible settings
Windows repair tool

This is a real hard one without more info.

I have an i7 9700k and a 3080, with sufficient ram and storage. How exactly can I get you more information. I'll gladly help if you think you might be able to help. I appreciate it!

I got it to run once, and then couldn't get it to boot after that

If you have installed process lasso, deinstall it.

This is a memory access violation iirc (0 = read violation).

Here is some stuff to try.

First of all, verify the local game files in Steam by right clicking Elden ring, properties, installed files, verify.

After that is done, open an admin command prompt, then type:

Sfc /scannow

Hit enter, let it run. Then type this one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Hit enter, let it run.

Reinstall visual c++. Download it:

https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

Run it as administrator and let it install.

Reboot your pc

See if that helps! (none of this will harm your pc).

There is a user here who may help you more in depth if that doesn't work - Dark-breed.

first the dism command than sfc

it is important to run the commands in the correct order because dism checks/repairs the filecontainer that get used by sfc to repair files.

running them in wrong order can produce a windows internal file version conflict

both c++ are needed because steam is a 32bit application and if the x86 is not at the same version it can create a internal transfer error between the two c++ redistributables

this is the correct procedure

Open command prompt as Administrator and run these commands

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

After this is finished

Sfc /scannow

Repair both c++ redistributables.

Tried and still cant play ;(

I got in once yesterday (not following those steps exactly but just trying anything and everything online and it just randomly worked), and was able to play for an hour or so. I got off, and tried to play again later just to have the same white screen crash.

My bad, I do not have process lasso installed.

I did however follow this pc optimization guide, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIftrmT-PmM

Which may or may not have done something that could be the root issue of the game crashing, although this is the only game I am having an issue with.

Hope that helps a bit

it helps to know it screwed your system configuration completely you can try to undo what this guide did in the hope it will fix the system problem but if this does not help you will end up in a complete wipe of the system and a fresh install.

in this video are enough security , encryption and process management manipulations to break any EAC and secure memory functions.
such videos should be deleted.

I'll probably end up wiping everything and doing a fresh install to see if the video was the problem. If it is that would be disappointing as the video gave immense performance boosts and made my pc run so much smoother than before. I'll try sometime in the next couple of days and report back. Thanks for the help thus far.

I didn't end up doing anything other than deleting EAC files and verifying integrity of game files, and it's been working ever since. Thanks for the help
