Fire Giant struggling

Currently level 72, using scavengers curved sword +7. My vigor is at 40. My strat is usually going for the left leg in first phase, but im still struggling to kill him. Any suggestions?

So I just beat the game for the first time. I almost beat him on the first try without knowing about his weak limbs. On the second try I just went for them and melted the guy in a heartbeat.

You should probably equip the fire resistance talisman there.

At that boss though I already had 54 strength and 60 vigor.

My weapon at the time was a Great Stars +20 I think.

rl 72 is super low level for fire giant, in your first playthrough. you wont be able to kill him like that by yourself probably.

use horse, he is easy if u go for his legs hit him a couple times then gall back and do it again

No wonder, +7 weapon isn't even at half where it should be for Fire Giant, unless it's a somber weapon, then it's okay.

How in the world did you end up at the fire giant at lvl70 on your first playthrough dude? Did you just run from boss to boss?

Go level up, you should be in your 90-early 100s for Fire Giant.

i am not using a sombre weapon. and yes pretty much ran from boss to boss, did do some exploring and levelling up, and just somehow ended up at him, i was really underlevelled for the other bosses as well, but fire giant has given me the most difficutly and attempts. still cant beat him yet.

Once I hopped off of Torrent, the fight became 200% easier

for such a low lvl and vigor for that fight, you either master the atacks to dodge em perfectly and do a 1000 paper cuts to death thing, or you just lvl up and put some points into your scaling attribute for damage as well. You are a tad bit low on lvl for that area mate.

If you still plan on trying to kill it without summoning and by yourself I would advise maybe try some bleed dmg or apply frost and reset it with fire. Also is always good idea to invest on 25 faith to cast golden vow on yourself, just an amazing buff to have overall.

Level seems remarkably low for the content. I've done two runs and both times I was in the 110-120 range by the time I made it to the giant, and that was with skipping large chunks of content. I didn't go to half the underground and skipped all of Gelmir the first time around.

do you think i should level up to make it easier, or keep on trying. because on my second attempt i ALMOST killed him (i was level 62). also my weapon scales in str and dex. should i put more runes into that as well as vigor?
