Enemy weaknesses?
I'm curious as to how one would figure out innate weaknesses of each enemy? I've seen people say things like Crucible Knights are weakest against parries and strong against everything else. I also see people say "whatever makes sense, so beasts are weak to fire, armor wearers are weak to lightening due to conductivity". Is this really just by feels, or do people actually know what true weaknesses are to all the enemies in the game. I'm curious what things would bosses be weak to, as nothing is really apparent to me.

I've tried looking at wikis but I don't see that information with the results I've found (can' search it seems). Is there an actual compilation of this info by category somewhere? Sorry for the hassle.

The info you're looking for is in the Absorptions and Resistances sections. And for stuff like parrying, that gets tossed into the main body or a tips section usually.

Fextralife is definitely not always 100% accurate, but hard numbers are usually correct.

In Elden Ring, it's usually not so much a matter of 'what is this enemy weak to' as 'what is this enemy least good at facetanking'.

There is either "trial and error" on your own or checking wikipedias online that have data from the game that shows you numbers.

Trial and error is the main factor, and vicarious trial and error by reading about what other people have found out. Some things are pretty obvious though, like if you see a giant blue/white dragon in a snowstorm, in the middle of a frozen lake, that's blasting ice breath at you, trying to freeze it to death probably isn't going to be very efficient.

trial and error, which gets shared around, then gets compiled in fan sites like wikis which then becomes 'common knowledge'

then people dig into the files get the specific numbers that also get added to said fan sites and wikis allowing for more accurate data

visuals and themes are an easy way to get a rough idea tho

is it supposed to be a divine being and glowing golden? prolly resists divine dmg

is it glowing blue and/or covered in blue crystals and firing blue projectiles? prolly resists magic dmg

is it on fire? i'll let you guess here what it may be resistant to

fextralife, as much as it sucks, does list weakness and resistances of most major enemies
