Seamless coop question
Can I get someone with seamless coop experience to answer some of my questions?
I beat the game several times but this time I'm planning to play with friends that are new to the game. I was wondering how diffirent the experience is.
My fear is that we are gonna steamroll it and trivialize most of the content. Meaning my friends will have very diffirent experience than I did.
Maybe they wont even like the game even tho they might have liked it when playing solo.

1.How is balancing in terms of HP/DMG of enemies/bosses?
2.How does AI handle multiple targets?
3.How does things like loot play out?

#1 I don't know the exact HP increase but it feels like +100% for each additional player, I don't know how the damage is changed

#2 its really easy to bounce aggro between players, the bosses usually go after whoever hit them last, if you are good at doing this then its pretty easy to steamroll

#3 Drops from enemies are random, but set items everyone gets to collect

I did a seamless run with a friend. The experience wasn't Souls; it was something like Hello Kitty & Friends in Marshmallow Island, developed by Bethesda.

Yeah I'm kinda afraid of that.
I will then feel bad for asking them to buy the game and play with me.

Co-op is balanced by invasions otherwise the game is way too easy, the AI just can't handle more than 1 person and remain somewhat competent.

As for boss scaling they do in fact scale a bit more HP wise the more players you have.

I haven't actually gotten around to trying Seamless yet, but from what I understand like everyone else is saying it's going to be pretty easy. What you will likely need to do if you want some challenge in the game still is to impose restrictions on yourself. Don't upgrade weapons beyond a certain point, same with stats, don't go for the most OP equipment, etc. In fact, if you have some idea of the meta beforehand, you can make a point of trying out a lot of the weird niche equipment that's not necessarily the most powerful choice around. That's actually how you can get the most fun out of the game in my opinion :)

I did my first playthrough via seamless. We still had difficulties. It actually makes the bosses harder, to account for being able to use summons with players and things like that. They're scaled up some, for sure in HP and I believe also in damage. And you only break the game if you abuse the mechanics that break the game. You can trivialize the vanilla game easily too if you want to. We had the usual hard times you'd expect with two players who've never played it before going in blind. It was very fun and we'll be doing seamless again for the next co-op for sure.

Being able to ride around on Torrent and actually go about quests and exploration together is the main benefit to it.

If you won't hold their hand & beeline to most effective items then you're not going to streamroll anything. Going in blind is the ultimate balancing out there, let the natural progression play out.

When we played each player would get their own runes and loot. Idk If something is changed.

Just like it handles the spirit ashes. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's wack, sometimes you expect it to be wack and it outsmarts you by changing targets right away and coming right to your unassuming face.

I'd say serviceable. IMO the real problem is poise. Depending on your mates' playstyle you may need to assess your group poise dmg to evade stunlocking. For us (2 ppl), it wasn't a problem until late game, but the timing will be different for a big group.

1. Balancing goes out of the window since more people means more stagger, and seamless allows to summon spirit ashes in coop so you can just both summon mimics, tiches and dung eaters and co.pletely steamroll everything. Essentially it will be an infinite stagger fest and the only balancing difference is that you will have to repeatedly stagger a boss a few minutes longer.

2. Ai struggles with multiple targets badly. Even in vanilla if you summon any spirit ash you automatically beat the boss because it's just free hits.

3. Everyone gets their loot on their screen.

you can add extra difficulty with more mods if you fear the game getting too easy
or you know, do something about it yourself, like not using spirit ashes or going for weapons and builds you usually avoid in single player

the base game can be trivialized already simply by using one or two aow

Gonna be honest. Playing in solo is actually easier than playing with friends in seamless coop. Your friends will be fine, just hold back and let them enjoy the bossfights

Ok I had to chime in with this. If you want to play the whole game with friends, get seamless coop. FromSoft 's vanilla online experience is, and has always been, shoddy at best.

You can all use Torrent. You can be in different places at once.

Yes fights will be easier, but difficulty is not the gold standard in having a good time.

Throw in a synchronized randomizer and enjoy finding brand new ♥♥♥♥ together, visiting places you wouldn't have thought to visit because anything can be in there now.

Trust me, me and a couple of friends played that ♥♥♥♥ for over a couple of weeks easy because we were having such a good time with the silly moments, finding items/weapons, and learning weird tricks from each other.

I would highly suggest taking it easy on enemy randomization as that can create literally unbeatable areas if you have bad luck.

As for enemies, they'll switch targets as normal. Just like with summons/regular co-op. If someone wants to heavy shield it they can grab that Shabriri Woe talisman and be the tank.

Loot? Guaranteed drops everyone gets. I believe loot tables are rolled for other things that aren't guaranteed however. And you all get a roll in that.

Once again, just your opinion.

A developer's intentional design choices aren't "shoddy" just because they dont match what you and your minority of seamless players want.

Whatever people tell you about how "co-op breaks the game", remember such things as self-restraint exist.

If your friends are new players who want a challenge but don't want to deal with invaders, or just wouldn't like the way co-op in Elden Ring basically restricts you to tiny strips of open world at a time with little ability to explore togheter, you can stop things from becoming too easy by restricting your own builds and not giving your friends too much aid in making their builds or choosing their strategies.

No bigger handicap exists in this game than not knowing what you're doing, with the second biggest being whatever you're willing to impose on yourself when you know what you're doing.

Anyone telling you "it's not enough" is probably a salty invader missing the forest for the trees and thinking they're losing a whole lot of PvP interaction from people who would probably have refunded the game and never been a possible invasion target again after one or two times getting slaughtered in the most boring and effortless fashion.

We'll, if you have some fun with your friends, what's the issue? That's what games are for

The only downside is I can't invade you and your homies 😂
Well too bad cause I actually enjoy getting invaded. Half the time u play with the taunters tongue on solo.
Is there a way to enable invasions in seamless?

1. I beat the game 3 times using the mod
The game is definetly easier with more players, but enemies get a lot more hp, more than they normally do in coop in the vanilla game, specially bosses. If your friends are new to the game and you are not killing everything for them I don't think you guys will steamroll the game.

2. AI is bad at fighting multiple players since it can only track one at a time, same as in the vanilla game.

3. Everyone gets their own loot.
