I mean high places with gaps in between and cliffs in general but there are bottomless pits under elevators.

if i rememeber right in an interview he just said he loves to create them, and once you visit the one in the dlc, it was a great time for introspection, so get those messages ready once you arrive at the dlc swamp

He must love swamps but hates poison because every soulsborne game hes been involved with poison has been useless.
Only ds2 poison and ER scarlet rot are the only dots in the entire series that isnt so weak that its useless.
Its actually funny how weak it is in most games.

he seems to hate almost anything that isnt smacking the enemy and damaging them directly, since bleed was only ever good in ds3 and it was quickly gutted, looks like he is trying to redeem himself with elden ring with rot and bleed

Or its Tanimura who secretly snuck in ds2 poison values in to scarlet rot in hope he wouldnt notice. :^)

This is only tangentially swamp related, but the DS1 toxic blowdart guys do 14 dps with their toxic, which is a huge number for how early in the game you get there

Because he lives in one. I mean, that's what life is, a bottomless pit in a poisonous swamp. Nothing but Ultrawide and PS prompts and "garme bad design I hate game bad dersine!" and no discounts and the constant threat of nuclear war and "why game can't have easy mode my sweat glands broken!" and "seemless coop bad because I sweat too much and need other sweats on my sweat!" and starving children and Kony 2012 and whatnot.

Just eat some dung first* - Soulsborne usually has a way to deal with stuff.

*you can only have one toxic status effect, the dung toxic was way less damaging.
