What’s with people sending summons home?

Seems to be a weird uptake in people summoning 2 of us for help just to send us both back home when the boss is low. What’s the point? Just a troll move or am I missing something?

Sometimes people to it to ss them soloing the boss, atleast a lot of people did that with malenia I remember, dunno if they still do it now.

I did a variation of this a couple times where i would summon some golds then once the boss started immediately dismiss them cause i wanted a tougher boss.

eventually i realised "yaknow, instead of my +12 weapons, i could just use unimproved weapons and get basically the same result" and stopped doing that.

Very few people (trolls) do this on purpose.
But if you don't see them use Finger Severer assume bad connection.

I have seen many times host loses connection and phantoms are sent home.

I once summoned two players for Malenia for some jolly co-op
and I lost connection while I was attacking her.

For a few seconds I wondered why am I only one attacking her? Where are the guys?
Only to realize my internet went down :-)

The message for lost connection will say lost connection. If you get 'sent home' the host severed on purpose. You can also hear the sever as it makes a sound

Sometimes its bad enough that it can cause enemies to teleport and for people to take damage at distances that are impossible -- same with killing things they aren't even close enough to kill.

If I see someone's character vibrating only to suddenly teleport 50 miyazakis away from their original position then I'll cut them off and send them home for both our sake since (one or both of our) connection(s) are too unstable.

You can SEE the host using the finger severer so it's fair to not assume it's a connection error

on playstation when you get an achievement an image is taken thats tied to that achievement. it might just be uncertainty on wether steam does something similar.

it would hurt their bragging habits if such an image showed 2 terminators liquidating the boss for the host.

Got summoned by a guy with a terrible build (white mask + heavy armor; go figure). Radagon was nearly 1 shotting him with hammer strikes, so he eventually backed off and I finished him off. Then I had to solo Elden Beast because the host kept his distance and didn't even try to attack. No big deal. I can solo both of them at this point. After I killed EB, I turned, bowed, and mid-animation he finger severed me before the runes and Rune Arc were given.

Now, I don't particularly care about the runes, Rune Arcs, and Furlcalling Fingers that I get for helping a host. It was more the fact that the host didn't greet me when I spawned in and didn't bow or wave me out after beating the boss, for which he was ill equipped and lacked the skill to beat.

I was pretty livid. Pulled up his profile and blocked him. He was Russian, or at least that's what his profile indicated. Had this happen on two other occasions. Both were Russian as well. Wonder if there's a correlation?

No it was not server maintenance.

My connection is just not good sometimes.
I plan to get better internet and PC so that should minimize crashing and disconnects.

By the way I saw your sign at Malenia once and just slowly backed off.

Trolls. I took a world boss statue down to half on my own, then once it was defeated I was sent home....makes no sense. It was not a regular boss that sends you back automatically.
I've been sent back too many times as of late. No reasons either.

you don't get a rune arc if you summon people to help but they do?
