however id guess grandeur can get more damage simply because you can charge it, which means you can use additional buffs to increase the damage that dont apply to moonveil, while iirc all buffs you can use on moonveil are equally applicable to grandeur.
I see so Moonveil for mobs and Grandeur for bosses.
I am also interested in one tricky question:
Which one does more damage when magic infused with Grandeur - Rapier or Moonveil?
Thank you very much!
These were all of my questions and your answers people were a-m-a-z-i-n-g!
This is assuming you hit with grandeur, the skill has a long windup and requires you to stand still, which can put you in very bad situations, a drawback that tansient doesn't have.
Carian grandeur takes a moment to charge which means its only good when you have stance broken enemies or to kind of stunlock humanoid enemies by only charging one time which always throws them to the ground and then charging fully when they are about to get back up. Rinse repeat.
The thing with grandeur though is it can be buffed a bit more since it is a charged skill so you can not only use shard of alexander/warrior shard but also godfrey icon which adds another 15% damage.
I personally prefer carian grandeur because I´m not that much of a katana fan but when it comes to overall useability I would say moonveil is better and can be used more often because it comes out so fast. Grandeur can´t be used that often but boy is it insane when you get an opportunity to use it and it looks awesome.
One good way to stance break enemies besides using rock sling is by using glintblade phalanx which you get with rogiers rapier. Put it on a dagger and cast it 1-3 times depending on how much the enemy needs to be stance broken and then quickly switch back to your weapon with carian grandeur and position in a way that you also hit the head, fully charge it and drop that nuke. Always hilarious and so satisfying to see those insane damage numbers it generates and it often times outright oneshots the enemy.
