Castle Morne letter quest

I did fight all my way up to deliver that letter to the commander and he's not there !! Same happened at my first playthrought. What did I do wrong ?

Did you skip Stormveil Castle? If yes, and activated Liurnia first site of grace after castle without defeating Godrick, the quests somehow bugs. Same if you defeated Godrick before doing Irina quest. That's what I recall from some discussions with people, they said killing Godrick makes Edgar not appear in Morne. I did that quest only once, long ago and then never again, Irina now always serves me as a victim for maiden blood in Varre quest

You might have reached Altus plateau already. Think that advances that storyline. Actually it might be reaching the lake.

You can still finish the quest.

ah dammit, yes I defeated Godrick before...

Yeah, once you reach Liurnia, Edgar moves from the castle rampart to a random shack where he invades you. For some, unexplained, reason. Sigh.

The reason is he was consumed in grief and joined the chaos flame, you get a grape (eye) for killing him
