How to tell if I already own a spell/incantation/weapon/armour?

At merchant and can't tell if I already own an item for sale. Is there any way to check without having to exit the store and go back in? I usually just buy everything but then i have duplicates of everything...very annoying.

I think FROM soft needs to take some courses on QoL design.

You can discard some items and spells if gotten more than one, but not all items do. But yes you have to exit out of the merchant and check your inventory to see if you have it or not.
