Ring of Oath RAGE

So I got the first Ranni quest defeat Radahn and follow wolfy boy down the meteor hole, killed twins, all the coffin riding, did Lake Rot, killed big bug EVERYTHING basically and then bang stuck at this Ring of Oath magic door. Apparently AGES AGO I was supposed to go back and speak to Ranni at her tower about some ring bs. Point is I have literally cleared the ENTIRE dungeon and bosses just trying to find the lost city and wolf guy - that is all I had to go on in terms of quest. For the DLC... can the devs PLEASE PLEASE add a frigging quest log and just the rough outline of an objective FFS because now I have to backstep a stupid amount of NPC following events and have no idea where to start. RAGE.

Its like clearing all of Skyrim and not being told to go see the Greybeards. Its really annoying. And I don't even have the crazy respec lady chest key.

Ranni gives it to you once you beat shadow blaidd iirc

She gives you a key when you kill the red phantom blaidd.

Did you give Ranni the Fingerslayer blade? Did you kill the Baleful shadow and read the description of the key Ranni gives you?
