Why is it here? as far as I can tell all it does is lead to leyndell, but isnt it far harder to kill the gargoyles than the draconic tree guy?

Yeah i always kinda wondered this too. Like, im pretty sure you have to get into leyndell first for the teleporter to turn on, plus by the time you're doing fias quest you're probably already in mountaintops.

Who knows tho, Miyazaki might have been cooking and we just can't realize it.

It's an alternate way to get to Leyndell if you choose not to go the lift route.
