Rolling delay
Is it just seem to me or rolling in Elden Ring have just a small delay? I mean it works similar to the parry mechanics where you have to predict when to parry.

For instance in Enshrouded game, I haven't noticed such a delay while rolling.

Maybe a frame or two? Unless you're playing on a bad monitor or wireless controller that's adding input lag you haven't noticed before. I'd say the small delay would make sense. It prevents you from just spamming O and getting out of every single situation. Sometimes positioning is more important than knowing when to roll.

No, about 20% of the second.

If you play on k&m, you actually roll when you release the button. That's right, roll starts on release, not on press.

Roll starts when you release the button not when you press it.

The game needs to know if you want to run or roll, so it will only roll when you release the button, otherwise you will run.

It's the same as with a controller? At least with an Xbox controller.

No lads, on M&K roll does NOT start when you release the button. It starts when pressed.

Checked personally.

So, you roll every time you are trying to sprint?

yes, it has delay and with steam controller settings you can change dodge to start on press:

check out this. This is not a real mod, you just change the steam controller settings for Elden Ring

Technically it works, that the dodge button is pressed and released instantly. So you need to have a different button for running.

Even with dodge on press, it's still a bit delayed, but its a lot better.

No idea what game you play mate. Roll starts precisely when I release spacebar after tapping it. When I hold spacebar, I sprint. Checked personally for your convenience.
SHOCKNUTZ Mar 9, 2024 @ 1:07pm
there is a steam profile for roll on press

Exactly the same. There is no two versions of the game. Apparently settings matter. My roll is under one of additional mouse button. So if I hold it my character rolls anyway. I think I have shift for rolling and running instead of space.
