Bosses have a huge stamina bar, bro. Goes all the way across their monitors.

Nah, they keep swinging at your ghost when you die, until that random moment where they're like "oh nvm he dead" and then edgewalk away from the camera

no. the devs can't do math

unlimited stamina + some decimal off somewhere in delay for attacks

the ai in this game is stupid af. ever severed finger during a fight? with mobs or bosses? once your body is gone and that little sphere is there in your place, the enemy/boss automatically agros at it, forgetting whoever else is attacking.

kill or be killed
frankly you should be grateful most of the bosses only slow walk towards you instead of dashing at you like the deformed freakazoid dogs in caelid

Yes, but you have to kill them first.

they all stop attacking and even then you don't even have to wait for them to stop to attack just roll into attacks find good punish times. I know it seems rough but I can tell you from over 800 hours of experience that the combat is really damn good.

Bosses respond to what you do, especially if you have lock on enabled and can't 3D walk diagonally away from them. The horse rider right before Maliketh is the best example of this as he will almost always fireball you if you try to roll away and heal. The bosses cheat by syncing their actions to yours. So the solution is to either disengage lock on so their attacks miss you, or do fewer actions. Relying on mega buff overpowered huge damage attacks is the key because weaker spam attacks that don't deal enough flinching will just have the boss repeatedly slam you. The Elden Beast can be one shot killed by the ancient lightning spell and a few buffs to increase your damage. That's how you deal with boss spam. By not spamming. The more you spam, the more they will too.

kyutaru just wanted to mention that in the draconic tree sentinel fight there is enough time in between fireballs to heal so basically the fight just wants you to be more conscious of when you heal and make sure you can just spam heal, by forcing you to either sacrifice an attack to heal, or bait a fireball to heal. I personally really like this as in previous games you can easily back up and heal with being punished.

also about the pontiff analogy I totally understand but pontiff was also a very fair fight even more in phase 2 were he constantly stops attacking because of the double attacks.

The bosses are meant to be fought with Spirit Summon Ashes and still be challenging. So yes, many of them are very aggressive, but you are not meant to take the full brunt of their wrath.
