So for the moment i used yapped to edit item discovery on the crimson...whatever, the life ring you can start with or buy. Dsmap studio looks more robust. Is there a parameter i can edit to increase base player item discovery rather than edit the item discovery bonus % on certain items?

Why? If there is an item you need just say so, if it is something you want to farm then there are other methods.
