Dark Souls Leveling Style?
Is this like Dark Souls where you start out leveling cheap then it gets more expensive after?

Example it's better to save 100 000 souls because you can level up 50 times than leveling up each time you can but it costs more

You’re gonna be a sad panda when you’re saving up your runes and unexpectedly lose them to a misstep or an angry rune bear. Best to level whenever you can and not risk it.

Always spend your souls (unless your build is done).

The levelup costs grow at the same rate no matter if you get 1 level at a time or 50 at once, there's no reason NOT to spend runes immediately when you can level up.

I see, Dark Souls had a System where if you level 1 to 50 in one level it costs you cheaper than for example leveling whenever you can one level at a time.

Basically 1 to 50 was cheaper than leveling up each time till 50.

This is not true. It does not matter, if you level up all 50 levels at once or one by one in Dark Souls. Pretty sure it's this way in every Fromsoft soulslike.

You're thinking of some other game, then - that was never a feature in any Fromsoftware game

I remember how for example Souls needed was 500 per level each level

So if you saved up 1000 souls and it costs you 500 souls to level, you can level twice.

If you level once, and set it, the next level cost 1000 souls, you are now left with 500.

I remember in Dark Souls 1 using the farming spot woth ghosts in the Forest with a low character. I'd level up one stat to 50 because soul requirements per level is so low and not set yet.

you are remembering wrong. in both ds and ER, each level costs more than the previous level you purchased, regardless of when you buy the level or how many you buy at a time.

for example, say you are level 1. going to level 2 costs 5 souls, going to level 3 costs 10 souls, going to level 4 costs 15 souls, going to level 5 costs 20 souls. going from level 1 to level 5 costs 50 souls, and it does not matter whether you buy the levels all at once or one at a time, each will always cost more than the last.

That is 1000% not a thing. Souls needed from one specific level to the next is a set amount no matter what. The earlier levels are VASTLY cheaper overall so that might be why you think that.

In other words, there is no discount to the required runes or souls or blood echoes for leveling up based on anything you do.

The only thing I can think of is Yoel of Londor in DS3, and waiting to get the free levels from him until after farming up a bit to get the most value from him. That's still not quite what's being described and doesn't exist in ER.

I'll echo what others have said. I'm not sure where you got this from, but in Souls games there has never been a reason to hoard your souls/runes to level up a bunch of times all at once. The cost is the same regardless of whether you save up or spend them immediately.

That said, this sounds like an interesting feature for something like a rogue-like.

I will say that because of the escalating costs to level, it's not a bad idea to do a false start or two, where you spend some time figuring out the game and how you want to build your character before starting your "for real" run. It's just too expensive to switch builds in the middle of a run. At least every game since DS1 has included a respec mechanic, but those typically aren't available until later into the game. Better to just get your build right from the beginning.
