Big bonk weapn, dex katana, magic bs, str+faith ?
You can go straight to calid and get guts greatsword and kill that big dragon there for free souls
Yes some weapons are significantly better than others. (Blasphemous blade is a looot better than ivory sickle for example)
however all weapons are good enough to finish the complete game.
IN case you are new to souls games this concept might be confusing to you
it was to me in Dark Souls 1 when i first played it
Strike damage, bleeding, good at stance breaking.
Lordsworn's Straight Sword and Noble's Slender Sword are also pretty neat.
Be warned, though. Slender Sword is painful to farm.

Banished Knight's Halberd is great and it looks good as well.
You can get one from a guy npc in Castle morne, kill him or follow his quest

So yes, Rusted Anchor is your answer, even tho "range" is crap damage is huge.
