need new weapon

i'm level 30 pure melee build with 1h and shield but haven't found anything to replace my default battle axe...any recommendations?

any weapons are good with right stats and talismans . Maybe try duel wielding weapons they are amazing

You can easily get most of the good weapon early
What's your preferred style
Big bonk weapn, dex katana, magic bs, str+faith ?
You can go straight to calid and get guts greatsword and kill that big dragon there for free souls

I hope you are aware that souls games are not like most games where you find significant weapon upgrades all the tiime.

Yes some weapons are significantly better than others. (Blasphemous blade is a looot better than ivory sickle for example)
however all weapons are good enough to finish the complete game.
IN case you are new to souls games this concept might be confusing to you
it was to me in Dark Souls 1 when i first played it

I would recommend Morning Star.
Strike damage, bleeding, good at stance breaking.

Lordsworn's Straight Sword and Noble's Slender Sword are also pretty neat.
Be warned, though. Slender Sword is painful to farm.

Try out the poking halberds, very enjoyable and fun weapon.

i just found the Greataxe from the chest on the wagon being pulled by giants, and also the Demounter...both of which are exactly what i was looking for but i'll check out the Banished Knight's Halberd as well, thanks!

If you want something slightly more nimble, find the Claymore.

If you're going for a Strength build, which it sounds like you are, try taking a jaunt south to the Weeping Peninsula and grab the Rusted Anchor. It's one of the absolute best pure-strength weapons in the game, and can easily be used all the way to the end of the game. It's technically a Greataxe iirc, so the moveset should be somewhat similar to weapons you've already been using. (side note, just since you mentioned it- the Dismounter is kind of bad, I'd recommend avoiding upgrading it. The Greataxe is pretty okay, but not all that great compared to similar options, particularly the Rusted Anchor. The Banished Knight's Halberd is pretty strong, but personally I don't care for the moveset too much.)

Just adding a sidenote (as I read just now on the last comment and on your OP post at the topic):
Pure Strength build.
So yes, Rusted Anchor is your answer, even tho "range" is crap damage is huge.
