monkey's paw is a phrase that just means getting your wish but it screws you over in the end basically. She got in touch with the star magic and turned into that face ball as a result

I mean Dung Eater is kinda the only one who is brutally honest with you. His goal may seem... dubious, but at least he says it outright. NO OTHER PERSON except maybe Haight (and his quest is quite minor) and Goldmask ("...") is honest with you and the others - Fia, Gideon, Ranni, Shabriri, even Melina, they all use you as a tool while praising you for being "brave" and "lord", even Lady Tanith is a slinky sort bc she lies to her snek daughter. Don't even let me start on the whole golden order sht. So yeah, truth is a rare treat nowadays, and is sometimes covered in poop so to speak but well

The amber draft alone is proof that rannis quest is stupid and poorly written, plot armor in a dark souls game? jfc its like reading someones first attempt at storywriting after they've literally never even read a book before.
rannis ending and the ending of diablo 4 is the same ♥♥♥♥, some stupid witch who doesnt have the power to control it, is given the power to destroy the world at their whim and we get to hope that power wont corrupt this epitome of hubris.

Ranni has the second worse ending besides the elden lord itself. You listen to her talk infront of a giant moon for 2 minutes and bam, game over.

You can never go wrong with an assassination questline like the one at Volcano Manor. Just wished there were more and the quest went a little further.
