Whats the point of ng+?
I thought it was harder then the first play though, its just a walk in the park...I like the game, but why? How many ng+ i have to defeat till it gets harder than my first play through?

Four score and twelveteen.

why would it be as you are all built with talismans upgraded weapons so NG+ is easier. You do it to get some achievements missed in NG

the only point is the challenge or to collect doubles of items you want two of, elden ring doesn't add anything new in that regard

I found journey 3 to be more of a challenge than 2, and by journey 4 onwards the enemies were significantly more aggressive and difficult to take down.

Did you read my post?!?! There is NO challenge (at least in the firt ng+), thats my whole question...

i would just do a new playthrough if you're looking for a challenge or rush through a few NG+ til you get to like 5 or 6 and bosses will be tougher. they're not going to be more aggressive though. the only difference is they have more HP and do more damage.

of course there's no challenge at the start lol what do you expect? get into the later areas and see what happens

I personally wouldn't bother though

There almost certainly is though. Enemies in NG+ are much stronger than in NG, especially in the starter areas. You didn't mention how far you actually got, but I'm guessing you are comparing endgame NG to early game NG+, which is where your issue lies. If you had gone back to the starting zone in NG, then compared *that* to NG+, you would see the difference much easier. It is also worth noting that NG+ continues to scale its enemies until +7, so there is plenty of room for them to get harder.
for me the appeal is to beat the DLC bosses in NG+1 as those are typically far more menacing than on ng+0. Beyond that i see no point.
Right now we dont have a DLC yet, so i currently see no appeal.

if you maintain a 125-150 build you will start to see the difficulty youre looking for around the mid game point. early game enemies are super weak, so even on ng+ its not a big challenge. if you want early game areas to really be tough you'll need to hit ng +2 or +3 while maintaining a RL125-150 build.

Are you level 200 or something ridiculously high like that?
Despiser Nov 29, 2023 @ 12:59pm
I would have just played up to near the end of a regular playthrough then wait until the DLC to continue. In fact that's what I am doing because NG+ doesn't interest me. I've got too many other games I have barely touched.

It depends on your level, but usually if you want to do some NG+, you have to get to NG+2 or 3 at least to get a real spike if you are still leveling past RL 200. If you want to go high level and still have some difficulty, just rush through the lower NG+ and get to NG+ 5 or 6, then it's going to be really hard.
Koala 4peace Nov 29, 2023 @ 2:55pm
Actually, i feel that NG+ is meant for the player to have some payback.
DayLight1943 Nov 29, 2023 @ 2:56pm
for level 125-150 you need to hit midgame for the difficulty youre looking for - early game enemies are weak, and even if you make them stronger, they are still weak. need +2 or +3 if you want early game to be hard for a RL125-150 build.
