That's all there is to it, but I don't believe you would have to change the save file's extension is all. Just keep it the way it is. The save file is read by Elden Ring the same on Windows as it is on Linux I believe. I've done the same thing copying my save from my Windows PC to my Steamdeck (which runs Linux).
EDIT: BTW, I'm a big Strongarm fan...thus, I'm a fan of Shai Hulud. Perhaps you are as well?
Glad you're flying. Take care.
Had to check out Strongarm and Shai Hulud, had not heard of them. Quite the wild ride. Always fun to check out something new! My wife walks in and give me that .. what the?.. look. Lol
Im just a long time fan of the Dune books and Frank Herbert is where I found the name.
And always picking up new music to listen too. Thanks!
Sincere thanks for sharing that, and yes...a wild ride indeed...and my wife reacts the same way for some of my musical adventurousness too.
Performance on Linux for Elden Ring is generally a bit better than on Windows. Part of it is due to Steam downloading the Vulkan shader cache rather than building it in realtime like on Windows. The other difference is that Proton contains several fixes for improving how the game handles draw calls.
