more than 60 fps ?
I just bought elden ring today, I play on 144 hz monitor so yeah its preety bad playing stuck at 60, after some research I see that I can unlock the fps more than 60, but then i give up on online, is there a way to unlock the fps and also play online? At least to get all signs and messages which make the game more enjoyable as a new player.

Well logically limit to 60 fps give fair playground for pvp. But was it really the case? I'd say Fromsoft is just too lazy to improve the game engine.
Try lossless scaling with VRR on, works fine on my Rog Ally

I'm a little confused here. You think it's pretty bad that you're stuck at 60 FPS? You've probably been told this, but there's no way you'd notice more than 60 FPS with the human eye. This post sounds pretty damn stupid.
Limiting the FPS to 60 when you have a 144hz monitor causes noticeable screen tearing because the monitor refreshes more than the image is displaying.

Elden Ring Glazers pretending this game is stable at 60 FPS has to be the funniest thing to me. None of them are getting a stable 60 FPS unless they run the game at Medium to Low. The game doesn't run at a stable 60 FPS on higher graphical settings regardless of hardware.

So what's the answer? What if you're playing a game that can't reach the frame rates as your refresh rate? Do you just use v-sync? I usually turn it off to be honest and haven't noticed screen tearing. I honestly don't know how many games I have that's capable of reaching the frame rates of my refresh rate which is 144hz. But I do have a 4070ti, so maybe it does.

Lower refresh rate to 60fps under system settings for pc. Use the amd tool to lock fps to 60.
Lot's of answers and ways around that. People just love to ♥♥♥♥♥ though.

Dont play this even with mods over 60 fps
1: ur eyes cant register it
2: it breaks the game in multiple ways...

You're likely not going to notice anything if the framerate is uncapped jumping around. It only becomes extremely noticeable when fps is locked to 60fps and you're likely sitting at that number. The real answer though for OP if he will stay with 144hz is to just uncap the fps or risk bad eye strain

Dunno what you're talking about, I'm maxed out graphics and I hover between 80 - 130

It's almost like you guys think that complaining about it will change it. That's hilarious.

Yea I'm sure they're working on your patch right now.

Like what's even the point here? Nothing is going to change it, you're not helping anyone, there's absolutely no reason to discuss FPS in Elden Ring besides the performance issues the DLC introduced. Beyond that, it's a dead issue.

You could talk endlessly for hours about FPS and next year on this date, the facts will remain the same. So let it go. Pick something else to worry and talk about. Maybe just go play and have fun.

Except, speaking realistically, the human eye notices the image as smoother the higher the refresh rate. This continues until we get to very high numbers, like 250-300fps.

That's not an opinion, that is an objective fact of reality. The only subjective opinions to be had is how drastic each individual notices these differences. Some people genuinely don't notice 60-90 fps, but it is virtually impossible to not notice 60-144 fps.

Interesting. But what's the actual gain? I would think it'd be minuscule to be honest. I have a hard time believing anything above 60 FPS is going to really provide a measurable positive gaming experience. Hell, we still have games locked at 30 FPS. I also I think it would be hard for a game like Elden Ring to maintain a constant 144 FPS for a monitor with a 144 refresh rate unless you have a 4090. If that's what you're looking for. But what do I know? I'm over 50 and now wear readers.

Age effects eyes so it makes sense as we get older we may not recognize the difference, hitting 30 and I can tell my eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

I think a majority of 'more frames' comes down to being used to it. Its harder to notice the change from 60fps to 144fps, but someone who routinely plays at 144fps will feel the frames being less smooth if it drops to 60fps.

For me, if a game is stuck at 60 its alright, I consider it the minimum needed for a good experience, and after like 30 minutes I don't even notice it most of the time.

Please tell me your hardware and settings, I'm sure youre using some kind of mod to get past 60 FPS too, not trying to be a ♥♥♥♥ just genuinely curious.

I have a 7900XT with a 5700X3D and 32 GB RAM, I cannot get stable 60 at 1440p which seems ridiculous to me, but I'm maxing out game and Ray tracing on High. The game dips to the 30s and 40s for me all the time and its annoying the ♥♥♥♥ out of me because it seems like a crappy port, for how it looks the game should not run this poorly.
