Because Elden ring is basically the next souls game but open world.
The combat and the movement mostly. I played a bit of Demon Souls back in the day and a lot of Bloodborne and that's about it.
Wondering if it still feels like I'm in a nightmare stuck in molasses when in combat or walking around.
The movement got upgraded a lot, actually.
You now have jumping and much more variety in how to fight, movesets expanded.
Controls are better overall.
Best thing for you would be to try it out, and if it feels the same - refund it before 2 hour mark, or just download it from somewhere you trust.
Tough one.
I easily rage quit. Don't know why, but not in ER. Fights are sometimes insanely heavy.
I love this game.
Someone is bound to have bought this game of your people. Ask around and have a go on their machine.
I find it very punishing but it's also very beautiful and the story so far interests me.
Anyway, I cannot decide for you.
@@ edit to add, playing Elden Ring has actually taught me quite a lot about how to progress in the older Souls games even.
Basically if the only reason you disliked souls game is difficulty Elden Ring gives you multiple ways to offset the difficulty.
It's more accessible, that's true in some ways. There's more choices on where to go. With seamless coop, it's fantastic in multiplayer. And there's improvements everywhere.
But it's 100% the same in terms of combat. People might suggest otherwise, but they're the same type that said Bloodborne is vastly different. The skills you picked up in those games still apply here. If you hate the combat system, I can't say the game has altered it much in any meaningful way, outside of Horse combat which is pretty fun, especially in Seamless coop.
If you prefer faster action with your character, then I think you will like Elden Ring over the previous games. In that case, I would also suggest you check out Sekiro, which is also made by From Software. I think you will like Sekiro the most if you are looking for fast character movement and combat.
