I'd say it's easily one of the best open world RPGs ever made. One of the best games? Not in my book, but it's an outstanding achievement and great game regardless.

It didn’t have the best physics engine with invisible walls here and there. Plus wildly imbalanced with overly easy combat until the end where it becomes impossible. Never could get past that, which I can accept if it were not for everything else being too easy. Plus a little heavy on story for my tastes.

Are you seriously trying to annoy me by insulting the Witcher 3? Really? Even if you feel that way it does not matter to me. The Witcher 3 is a milestone of the video game industry same as Dark Souls. So it doesn't matter if you like either or not. Any game can be berated for something. Like you can say Elden Ring is just big Dark Souls so it's nothing new in the end.
So you can't annoy me this way even if you are serious.

Meh everyone saying no will have it in their top 3 5-10 years from now and act like they felt that way since day 1...The more games that come out after it make me realize that ER truly was special

nah i would have to say terraria wins that. however out of the souls games i have played (before you shuffle though my profile this is the only one i have one steam.) i think its my favourite :)

I think it depends a lot on ones tastes, this is a very specific type of game that I would argue the majority of casual gamers would not enjoy playing enough to actually finish it. Personally in the span of a few days of playing it, I can already tell it's in my top 5 now.

Probably. If you separate subjectivity from it the "greatest" eventually has to become the most "agreeable." I don't think there's many people who would go out of their way to argue against Elden Ring for the title, it earned it by its ambition & tasteful restraint alone. I'd personally say OOT considering the times etc but when it comes to the current benchmark, Elden Ring.

It could be one of the best games.
But they used TOO MUCH copy & paste in this game.
For dungeons and for bosses.

It´s boring after a while, when you have 10x the same cat boss and 5x the same dungeon.
