Ulcerated Tree Spirit - Fringefolk Hero's Grave
Who designed this crap, and who thought it was a good idea to put it in the smallest room possible?

In the Fringefolk Hero's Grave you have the smallest arena ever and you can't even see anything half the time when the boss is flying around. A lot of the attacks one shot you and are hard to see because your camera gets stuck on walls.

There are multiple instances of bosses that are supposed to be world bosses being thrown into small dungeon arenas. Like, what? I just think it's absolute bull to have to deal with this dumb boss design in a small arena.

If you are getting one shot then come back later.

Good job on not reading the post at all.

The mouth grab attack for one, does an absurd amount of damage and can't really be seen coming due to the small arena. Also the explosion it does is impossible to get away from. It doesn't telegraph the move and just kills you instantly.

If you aren't going to read the rest of the post and just say "git gud", come back later.

The boss isn't even that hard. It's just the stupid small arena that makes it hard. When it moves around really fast it's impossible to tell whats going on half the time.

On top of that you can't seem to outrun the explosion attack. I'm always right next to it when it does that.

But that's not true at all. The explosion has a long build up before it goes off, you do have time to run away.
I fought that boss a ton of times because it gave me so much trouble but now it's basically a solved fight.
Just come back later when you have more health or better armor. Don't just write off advise as someone telling you "git gud." You don't have to take on every boss right then and there.

No. Just coming back later when you have more HP and everything else doesn't address the issue of the boss being greatly overpowered and having a small arena. It's a broken boss, and just getting more HP shouldn't be the fix for the boss.

It should be adjusted accordingly. It is found literally at the start of the game, and it should be a considerably easier boss fight. Or make the arena larger, or even make it vast open field and allow Torrent.

Your advice of "oh just come back later" is stupid.
I was really struggling with the game until I saw this meme of Miyazaki: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/zhbq3u/from_the_man_himself/

Then git gud because that's the only thing that will help you at this point.

Just because a boss or even a regular enemy is found at the beginning of the game doesn’t mean they are supposed to be easy or even scaled to early game. Like…have you played literally any FromSoft game before? They do this in every single title….

Proof you don't need massive amounts of HP. Took me a while to beat it, sure. But I always am against loading up on tons of Vigor, its a cheap way of winning.

and yes, I have played From Software titles before. This game in particular just has some absolute bull bosses that the other games don't really have.

Probably trying to set up some kind of “gotcha, see I’m NOT bad at the game cause I finally beat it, it really is just horribly designed” thing. Seen them too many times to count. It’s old…so old.
No actually. Took me about 40 tries to beat this guy without any upgrades.

Just to prove you wrong. HP isn't the only way to win boss battles.
