Haligtree is too hard. I'm not sure what to do.
I am glass cannon build with +25 greatsword + cragblade ash of war. All of a sudden, the mobs in this area are super tanky and I do no damage with 83 strength...not sure what I'm missing here.

For context, I am in the drainage channel grace.

The enemies there are some of the hardest in the game, it's normal for them to feel like a challenge. The best advice about the build I can give is to keep in mind that if you're two-handing the weapon that doing so multiplies your strength by 1.5, so you could effectively reach the softcap of 80 strength while only having 55. Unless you're power-stancing those extra levels would be better spent in vigor or even buffs/offensive spells for more damage output.

Be more cannon and less glass. Problem solved.

If that means "Level VGR to 60" then yes

Use jump attacks to break stance.
Use ranged options to draw them out or soften them up.

As others mentioned if your Vigor is below 50 Prepare to Die (tm) a lot :-)
Equipping talismans that boosts health could help.

To explain why this isn't good. When you increase vitality you gain something like 20-30 health, when you increase strength you gain something like 2-3 damage, maybe 5-6 if you're not over softcap and its an S rated weapon.

Health increases SO much faster than damage that it's always the right call to max out health at 40-60 before you increase damage, as you'll get so much more benefit from it. The main damage boost honestly is from levelling up weapons, strength and dex only affect it by a reasonable amount when you are on like +20, and by then you're already capped on the vitality you want.

honestly if you finding an area too hard probably try respec for more vigor or try out a new weapon?
