If this is not what you asked, then I'm sorry.
that looks more like a bug tbh
if it's intended it's way too gimmicky to feel good either way
Its almost always much better to just not use it. (There are rare exceptions)
Lies of P and Elden Ring face2face you can easily see why parrying is good in LoP and bad in ER
1.) Are the attacks itself consistent -> meaning the same attack always has the same preload and release animation length and visuals
LoP -> yes 100%
Elden Ring -> for the most part but not always... sometimes delay time is based on your position relative to the boss. So bosses will hold an attack 1s 2s 3s or 4s depending on where you are positioned.
2.) is The Parry timing bound to the visuals on screen.
In LoP Attacks always have 2 phases -> preload + release
the preload is different for every attack which some people call delay.
you always press and hold deflect when an attack changes from preload into release phase.
if you catch that change in animation with your timing in a tight enough window you will deflect.
LoP -> yes
If you have really good eye and really fast reflexes you can parry many attacks on first try vs a boss you never faced before
you just need to press fast enough when you see the change from preload into release.
ER :
The Parry Timings and the visuals have 0 connection.
Every attack has an individual parry window and it has nothing to do with what you see on screen.
Some attacks you have to press right at the start of an animation and some you have to press when the enemy attack is 4m away from you
Some you have to press when the sword of enemy visually is allready past you....
ER-> no .... not even 1%
So the only visual connectiuon between visual and parry press is that you have to realize which animation it is at the start of the animation and then remember if you have to press
super early, early , medium or late...
the only way to know which one it is is try and error
This leads to super inconsistent parry if you parry on visuals and reflexes.
In ER you have to parry on the information in your memory database .....
And before some clowns say: you dont know how to parry

I do know ....
