Did u ever "script" bossfights
Was watching Happy Hob finish his Godrun 3 couple days ago.
Gratz to him.
He had 135 attempts before he finally made it.
pretty good determination.

Watching it was completely anti climactic though
and the reason is that all bossfights were basically scripted.

meaning the bosses are mathematically solved in a way a simple computer programm (script) could 100% beat them while ignoring the boss actions completely.

To give a better picture.
you press a combination of buttons at the right time.
Its always the same combination
the boss does always the same moves based on your movement and positioning
you will always 100% win.

This was not possible during the first months of Elden Ring since nobody had the bosses solved to know how to trigger specificly the moves of them that you want to have.

But now with 0-hit run community they are completely solved.
example
https://clips.twitch.tv/EnergeticBlatantArugulaFunRun-oWoMKtN8D1IwEMiY

If hob did 100 fights vs Horah Loux they all would look 100% identical
it would always be the exact same sequence with exact same outcome.

Now i think most of us started Elden Ring on release
and since the knowledge wasnt even available back then we just fought the bosses.

But if you would start now
knowing that this could be done.
would you try to do the solved fights ?

have you ever scripted a fight in ER or any other game ?

I know that i started pretty late to Dark Souls 3 and i have indeed scripted
some fights like Pontieff.
I have done this since when i started DS3 it was pretty much solved.

here 4 year old example of me scrpting pontieff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tos0sFFkmSA

its always -> parry attack 1
stand still directly in front of him-> expect left side overhead or thrust overhead and parry it. This position limits him to exactly 1 of 2 attacks. He can not do anything else ever if you start with that sequence

riposte
damage him while he is doen
walk away in transition phase
close in and l1 spam when he tries to summon. (he always tries to summon and can always be killed in this process)

works 100% always

No, never. Fun always comes from the unpredictability, at least for me. That’s why I don’t like anything ‘overtuned’ in any game which pushes the players to anti-creative behavior. This is my main issue with ER, really. They tried so hard to catch DS ‘veterans’ off guard, try to make the game hard for them with all the unnatural aggressive enemy behavior with ridiculous delays, input reading and aoes and this is the result. Simple pattern recognizing is one one thing, what you say is another entirely and it has nothing to do with fun.

Exactly this is why i do not like the gameplay of elden ring.

Itbis possible to Script anything because there is not really a ai working and the Script Sets are limited to Player movement.

im aware that this is a possibility, i just dont pve enough to learn the fights that well. i usually learn the tells for most of their important attacks and thats about it, there is enough time between each time i fight a boss that im never gonna learn the fights to this extent and i dont really have any desire to.

I don't watch speedrunners and I don't play these games in a way that would make me tryhard enough to get to that point

so no I probably wouldn't end up playing like that and don't want to

What is fun for me is exploration and discovering valuable loot. I don't study scripts but will fail until I find a tactic that works, which often means tailoring my gear and tactics accordingly. But everyone has a different definition of fun which makes ER a great game because of it's wide range of appeal.

Never.

After seeing Ongbal's 0 hit Malenia video, I was impressed but couldn't imagine playing that way as being very fun. Though I still need to learn how to dodge Waterfowl at close range properly and use his video for reference.

I've fought her enough in co-op that I pretty much know what she will do ahead of time and know when she will switch up her combos. However, she will still throw a curveball fairly regularly and do something I have not fully anticipated. This keeps me on my toes at all times and each fight feels different.

Fun is entirely subjective. You don't find it fun, others do. They aren't wrong for thinking that way.

So now i did my first script ;)

I decided to use a weapon i have not seen anyone use so far for scripts ;)
-Godrick Dragon Arm-

I experimented a bit with charms and situations and after 30-40 Minutes of practice
i found a reliable sequence and setup

1.) get 3 charged attacks in for a stun
2.) once you get the stun do a heavy and a riposte
3.) you can now always drink the increased poise damage physics that you need for phase 2 to reduce the stance break from 3 to 2 attacks (only lasts 30 seconds so you cant use it at start of the fight :)
4.) Godfrey will always start his transition animation where you have just enough damage with this setup to always send him into phase 2

5.) the first attack is always the same and always a free heavy charge r2

6.)
Now you need 1 other jump r2 or charge r2 to get a stun 100%
This is the only thing where teh fight can get tricky.

if you have bad RNG he gets into jump + slam AOE as second attack.

Any other attack is a freewin !
just roll + charge r2 or jump r2 depending on what he does and 100% always get a stun.

7.)
now r2 then riposte and this will always be enough damage to transition him into
this long animation

8.)you can then always finish him off.
1xr2 follwoed by r1 spam will always kill him just before the foot reaches the ground.
if you lost life your damage will not be enough and you will get stomped here
->
downside is that you have to do it 0-hit or your damage wount be enough ;)

But the setup enables 0 hit rather easy

youtube probably needs a couple minutes to make it to 1440p

Well i had fun ;)

Does spamming giant hunt on Gideon until he is dead count? Because that's what I do.

:P
well i guess it kinda counts...
alltough its more cheese than scripting a fight

but the fact that you can predict everything that will happen once certain scenarios are met
kinda also makes it a scripted fight.

not very original though since internet is full with tons of videos about:
how to cheese Gideon with Giant Hunt...

To be fair I've been doing it since release. My first run was a knight build. Standard sword and board nothing too special. My second build I grabbed the greatsword and giant hunt and went thru the whole game decimating all in my way. Only reason I still do it to Gideon is because that prick killed me 2 times on my knight and I've never forgave him.

It'd be a waste of money.... buying a game, just to let a script play it for you. But if you already know the game inside and out and have beaten it (not just played it, but actually 100%'ed it), then I suppose its up to the player to decide how else to make the game interesting for him/herself. If that includes scripting, then i guess so. Although I won't do it. I'm not wasting my electric bill to run a game I won't actively be playing... at least for me, there's no point in that.
