crashing at dectus medallions - grand lift

hi! just got back into the game, doing play through. got the two medallions. i'm at the grand lift site where i hold them in the air. the cut scene plays. screen goes black. game crashes. tried it a few times, including skipping cut scene. same results. any quick fixes or problems with my pc to address?
