Best pre-Altus Plateau spirit summons?
I’ve unlocked Liurnia and I don’t want to unlock Altus Plateau yet. I’ve barely progressed any quest lines. I’ve killed Godrick.

What are the best spirit summons? Which ones are best for tanking and distracting bosses?

Meh. Just grab Mimic Tear.

If you find and explore all of the pre-Leyndell underground areas thoroughly, you can even upgrade it to +10 shortly after acquiring it.

FromSoft really should have made Ghost Gloveworts harder to come by, because as it stands regular Grave Glovewort is a much bigger pain to find to upgrade your "normal" summons.

I dont think I asked for a bragger, cause thats what you look like now.

Barely anyonne on theyr first playthrough will do this.

The fact is you can easily do this at lvl 15+3. If I could you can do it too. The argument is that you can't be "underleveled" for it.
Nice larp

Oleg or Engvall are pretty solid summons that can solo most minibosses.

There's also Mausoleum Soldiers which are some of the best "Soldier" ashes available. It takes a little work to get them, since you gotta beat general Chadahn to unlock Nokron, but that's still pre-atlas.

Both of the spirit ashes in the tomb past Chadahn are also pretty good, but that dungeon is gonna be a challenge even at endgame levels.
OP just reached Liurna, so I don't think they know what pre-altus means

guys don't look down on the marionette archers. the AI of some bosses outright breaks, with them.

Greatshield Soldiers are pretty damn good. They form a circle around the enemy and shield bash. Many bosses get trapped in a stunlock. Plus they're pretty tanky. But they're down in Nokron so it's not exactly super easy to get. The demihumans are good too, I think.

The monke boyz (demi-human) ashes are fun to use, especially at night.
There's 5 of them.
They scream.
They are aggressive.
They monke.

Banished knight Engvall no questions asked. You can get him early in Murkwater Catacombs. Has poise break for days. Second best imo is Lhutel the Headless.

I don't necessarily think she is the best, but I enjoyed using Latenna. She is found early into Liurnia, and as long as you can hold aggro fairly well, she deals quite a bit of damage in a very safe way.

I just did this tonight and it was extremely entertaining. They also kept staggering her phase 2 out of the laser beam so it was even better lol.
