I'm not saying that i did like the place but at least is empty and fast, it looks 10 times worst than how actually bad it is.
there is one obscure trick i dunno if you know about:
-if scarlet rot pops because you got dunked in the juice it will take less damage that if it pops while walking on it
(i usually roll once in the juice and then wait for it to pop in one of the platforms, once it does i dash for the next bonfire)
but yeah the area is doodoo
This copy pasta is missing an important word.
Most of the lake is just empty with some enemies placed here and there. The only dangerous part is the boss. Aside for him the rest isn't as bad as people make it out. Just run in, grab all the butterflies and items you see, ignore the frogs and port back to the site of grace, rinse and repeat until you covered the whole area. The ruins with those dozen of frogs is easily done by climbing on the beam and then shower the frogs with whatever aoe spell you like to use (Night Maiden's Mist is the best for this).
Oh and to add to that if you zoom a little past the area where he spawns to the left you can create platforms which are meant to be your fighting arena that will make fighting him easier by not having scarlet rot if you have good spacial awarness.
