Which weapons/builds are dominating PVE/PVP nowadays?
I played this game 6 months ago, and back then Rivers of Blood + Moonveil were on top.

INT, Arcane/Dex or Faith (Dragon) builds were the ones dominating.

Oh yeah and Hoarfrost Stomp, Unsheathe, Lion's Claw, and Flame of the Redmanes were abused weapon arts.

But I know that there have been so many changes and patches since I last dove in, just wondering what to expect nowadays?

dual any spear with high poise, the more level you have the more common to see someone use bull goat armor. people on PVE however you will find more variant build use by them.

Alot of poise and ceastus, a monster with dps
For PvP starfists with bloodflame blade, dual lance's, and heavy thrusting swords with BHS.

curved greatsword with a dagger in the offhand. Storm blade or flame of redmane ash of war. see this setup very often and in the right hands, it has some serious combo potential. Kicks my butt about 4 out of 5 times.

RoB and Moonveil never dominated. The top builds today are the same as last time (except one attack for PVE).
Strength with the following weapons:
-Dual spears
-Dual Lance
-Cleanrot Rapier
-Halberd and cleanrot rapier combo
-Heavy rapiers
-Dual Straight Swords
-Zweihander

Make sure you wear 83+ poise and have bloodhound step, flame strike, and storm stomp somewhere in your inventory.

The only difference is now Arcane has a hard time competing since bleed buildup builds were nerfed heavily.

Oh and almost every armor set was heavily nerfed due to poise changes, so enjoy seeing players in the same 5 armor sets.

EDIT: One weapon type did get buffed, which was Fists. They were about as dominant as dual straight swords for a while.

Bloodhound Fang is the only weapon you need in the game.

Uchigatana too, but it needs a wee-bit upgrading.

A lot of reddit builds in here. I just use cane sword with offhand rapier, swap to a reaper for anti air if they like to jump attack a lot which is the case with PSS users who will space you and go for jump r1 r1. Pretty much a 0 poise (functionally 0 poise) armor setup.

The halo scythe is based and underrated. This mixed with triple rings of light is one of the best faith
Builds out there.

I've never used anything that made pve easier than blasphemous blade with shard of alexander. You can spam your way through the entire game with a single key/button. Even Malenia if you use mimic tear with it.
