Last year, Bandai Namco patched 2 big security exploit on their own matchmaking servers, which host all the DS games series, CVE-2022-24126 and CVE-2022-24125.
They have been forced to fix the huge security exploits, because the community developers last resort, was to disclose publicly the security exploits, exploits that directly allow to run a program on the players computers.
Bandai Namco knew the issue, and only fixed the issues when forced to by the community.
So Bandai Namco is the first offenders when it comes to encouraging piracy on the computer of its players, especially with such security breach on their server.
As far i love reading steam languages bot comments about evrything and what not, i do not appreciate when these comment begin to discredit the community hard works.
I'm not saying that the mod has or not security issues, but for sure, i have more faith into the community work than into the Banday Namco own services.
This mod is open source, uses the steam network API instead of the Bnadai Namco server matchmaking.
Modding is a vital part of the community life, and it doesn't deserve to be treated as piracy, neither discredit the users, their work and mislead young members of the community about others work.
mmh no thanks, kinda useless at this point. Also the game already have arguable performances, there's no need to make it be worst
You do understand that you wouldn't be able to invade in any case, right?
No, it's not. If the main point of the game was the worstly optimized thing in it it wouldn't have been succesfull
When you're that insecure in real life you're salty because you can't bully people online
"main point of the game" - what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ignorant comment lmao, I guess all the work, time and effort the devs put into the lore, story and environments is pointless then?
People like experiencing the world of Elden Ring with friends, which is something you obviously can't understand
I've never done PvP in Elden Ring and I'm never going to.
I dont even use it, i run convergence, and them adding Denovo would be the end of Elden Ring.
Let people play how they want, the percentage of folks using the mod, most of which id wager would never be online in the first place, doesnt affect you at all.
*EDIT* Ignore me I'm talking ♥♥♥♥♥
What the hell are you talking about? What game that recently released with denuvo implemented got torn apart specifically because of denuvo?
Daaamn I gotta admit I'm wrong here and take a step back
Went to look for a bunch and a lot more games use it than I thought, my info is waaaay outdated
Main thing I remember is Doom being torn to shreds when they added denuvo to the point they removed it but that was far longer ago than I thought
When you're wrong you're wrong, I shoulda double checked before I wrote that, had no idea so many games use it
I thought the controversy was that it affected performance too, but looking through recent releases I'm seeing little evidence of that in reviews
My bad, I take back my comment
