Keeping Melina Alive but still being Elden Lord

I know you can become the lord of Frenzy, thusly sparing Melina. But like... feels bad man, on account of how I essentially melt everything and everyone together.

I did something a little different. But I just wanted some one's opinion.

I journeyed to find the frenzied Fingers and Melina got pissed off. She told me that babies and future generations should continue to exists; and therefore frenzied flame bad. But I went ahead and inherited the curse of the Frenzied flame anyway.

Melina runs away.

Then I used the curse of the frenzied flame to burn the erd tree.

Melina is spared from sacrificing herself to this end, I found an alternate way of burning the tree without burning her life away.

I complete Millicent's quest line, acquiring the curse ridding needle.

I use the needle to rid myself of the frenzied flame curse.

I become elden lord.

Melina should still be alive, although alittle butt hurt. Hopefully the dlc explores this ending abit more.

Can you support these statements with facts? That is with actual straight facts, not assumptions based on someone's story about the facts.

If the needle worked the Queen of Rot would have been cured and her daughter's questline wouldn't have gone the way it did.


And the power difference between what the Frenzy Flame can accomplish vs what non divine characters can is self evident.

The needle is explicitly incomplete and needs to be used in a time-bubble like Placidusax's.

Melina doesn't mind being burned alive (is she even alive?), Shabriri is just messing with your head to trick you into burning EVERYTHING alive.

He's one of the most honest players in the god game in Elden Ring, not sure where there are tricks involved. Nothing he says or all the incantations, and the weird three fingers, do, say, or have in the flavor text, suggest anything but madness and chaos.

Risking the fate of the world on a needle that is proven to not work against outer gods long term is alot more than a "people aren't perfect excuse" ... it's choosing to become a ticking time bomb to save one person after that person tells you multiple times she doesn't want to risk everyone dying.


Also there is a huge power difference between a Tarnished going insane and trying to end the world and a literal God doing the same. One is a firecracker and the other is a nuke.

Welp, the needle worked for me for some reason. I was not able to become the lord of frenzied flame, so it did work. And I did become elden lord and I did save my suicidal ghost person gf.

Idk if I should encourage someone whose suicidal. If the game gave me a choice, and it did, I'd like to discourage her from suicide.

ok so I just need to know, should I continue with the frenzied flame ending then cure it and will that bring Melina back? If not then how far back should I load to keep Melina available to me talked to?

i think she's gone as soon as you get hugged by the fingers, granted she's also gone if you burn the erdtree without getting hugged by the fingers so just go for the ending you want

Didn't she appear in the ff ending? So she is just gone from you, not "gone" gone

Very true, and people also forget that Miq's grand plans have always failed in regards to the Outer Gods so there is no reason to believe that the needle will work any better against the Frenzied Flame in the long term.

Melina with the ultimate sacrifice there are very few NPCs I attached to mainly Melina and Ranni lol we all simped for Ranni but sad you can't save her without you know mass murdering everything at least Thanos left half of everything alive 😂

twisted fromsoftware philosophical thought, based irl ofc she is alive because she is human. but real life logic doesn't work in fiction world
