Armor variety is a little disappointing
First off, can I just say it drives me up a wall that so many gear sets have to be farmed from enemies? And why are the drop rates so low? It took me ages to get the full Kaiden set on my current character, meanwhile I have about 5 dismounters.

Apart from that, a lot of the armor sets either look too same-y or just don't stand out that much, and you can't easily mix-and-match without looking like a clown. Maybe it's nostalgia bias, but I feel like it was easier in the Souls games to have a look that was aesthetically coherent while still hitting important breakpoints. I just want my Alva set, man.

Farming is a pain for the rare sets but hey thats DS games for you, if everything was easy players would get bored fast

I think there's a decent amount of variety.
Armor is a bit too detailed though, I think.
Each set has unique etchings or decals or trimmings.
Makes it a bit harder to mix and match sets and make them look nice.

Both ways are boring.
I get bored killing the same mob for the 50th time and still not getting what I want, too.

DS2/DS3 are god-tier when it comes to fashion. ER is mid at best.

A lot of armors have similar, but slightly different colorings that are enough to make matching different pieces difficult. Also with how the lighting is, some armors will reflect differently making them darker or brighter than other pieces in certain areas.

I'm not big on Elden Ring's Knight (armored) fashion either. Most of the knight sets are too over-the-top to match with others or create a semi-realistic knight like you could in the souls games.

Preach on. Ds2 was my personal favorite for fashion. Plenty of variety for both spell casters and armored folk to create cool or realistc sets, while having some fun and weird pieces to mess with as well. Fear the Havelyn Jester

Elden Ring has a lot of grind in general.
As I'm going out of my way to maximize my consumable use, I usually have to grind for more arrows, bombs, and grease.

But it is weird how certain drops like guardian bracers are extremely common, while it took me ages to get my bandit curved sword.

I disagree with all points. In all my games I end with a vast collection of armors, weapons, etc, and since some of them are similar, I can always set my character's look teh way I want. Also, they can often be mixed with good results. I'm running a maiden knight with golden armor and mised the finger maiden's head gear with the tree sentinel armor and gloves and the bullgoat's boots with great result for me.
As for the farming side, Its only annoying if you look for one specific item, but none of them are indispensable anyway and therea re ways to increase the chances, like increasing Arcane and using different amulets and items.
