Post 1.09 update, all spells, particles, and sites of grace are invisible for me

Enemies wave their hand or a staff and then I take damage several yards away. I use my own spell and the enemies drop dead. Audio effects play normally, but there is no visual effect of the spell. No projectile, no particles, no ambient light. Fire and lightning in the open world is invisible. When an enemy dies and drops an item, there is no visual difference between the enemy with the drop and a normal corpse. Sights of grace are invisible except for a lighter patch on the ground, as is the guiding grace trails. I have tried updating my graphics drivers, changing my graphics settings both in and out of game, and re-installed the game. Nothing changes. No I am not using any mods. I was playing the game the day before the patch without issue. No one else seems to be reporting this problem. Any suggestions for what else I could try would be appreciated.

so far its been verify game files re start pc and verify again turn off ray tracing and check all graphics card updates

I had already done all of that expect for the 2nd file verification, and that fixed the issue. Thanks.
