[FIXED] Game Crashes On Initial Load Screen

Yes this happens on ALL saves. Unless every single save file suddenly got corrupted at the same time the specific save file is not the issue. This just started happening and I have no idea why. I've spent hours scouring the internet for answers and I couldn't find anything. Simply put after attempting to load any save the game crashes after a few seconds. i have almost 200 hours in this game and this has never happened once. I had the seamless co-op mod installed for a time but have since gotten rid of it, and have been playing normally since then. I have 3 hours recently on this save, then out of nowhere nothing loads anymore. Absolutely nothing has changed on my computer since starting my most recent play-through, so I doubt is has anything to do with any 3rd party software. I have no idea so any help would be much appreciated. Especially before the dlc.

im having the same issue after the update. on all saves including new ones. game opens just fine, i can make a new character and select old ones, but a few seconds into the loading screen the game freezes and crashes without fail. i have tried everything i have found on the internet and nothing has worked so far

I got it to work! wasn't ray tracing, file integrity, driver update, graphics setting of any kind, system update ect ect ect. been trying for many an hour, however clearing my NVIDIA cache data! here is a link to the video that helped me. https://youtu.be/pckLWJeCQyc?t=8

I had the same problem. Crashing on the first load screen.
The fix for me was to update the NVidia drivers (528.02 --> 531.41)
My GPU is a RTX 2080 Ti.

I was able to get to menu screen (after an odd white screen), but game froze and crashed as soon as I was in game. I validated local files and turned off ray tracing in video settings. I'm in-game without issues now. Ridiculous that a game with 200+ hours of error-free play suddenly requires a workaround like this.

I didn't feel like I had to specify that I did verify the game files because that's so obvious. I already tried that multiple times I'm not an idiot.

I found that online and tried it already, twice. It didn't work at all.

Hi- The entire point of the update destroys the game. From is now incompetent, imo, despite my feeling their games are amazing. Get a refund and buy a game from a publisher that can code.
