Cosmetic mods while online?

so, i want to download cosmetic mods that change the looks of NPC's, PC, Weapons, and armor. but i am worried about not being able to play online so i stated searching to see if i could, yet i've found conflicts, some say yes but risk ban, while others say completly fine do to it being client side.

if someone could help clarify for me, i would greatly appreciate it.

This is the one souls game I just wouldn't chance it online if you could do it until the community itself proves otherwise (probably a good long time after the dlc if it happens). You could just say, "Too little info" when it comes to possibility of doing it while being safe. Doing it offline of coarse will be no issue. (Sadly a lack of audio mods, so don't rly have the motivation myself to bother)
While with DS 1-3.. normally you'd have the conflicts of opinion but a lot of the no's come from DS2 release (which was pretty messed up), word of mouth (Parrots), and people just blaming visual mods for they themselves getting caught hacking.

any mod will get you banned if playing online with eac, the only way to play with mods is offline mode with eac disabled

Update: You'll still get banned AND we'll all point and laugh.

If you want to mess around with mods you need to disable EAC and play offline.

Unfortunately EAC will target any mod, even if they're a harmless cosmetic mod.

I'm at the same, such a incredible hat but a designer ruined it entirely with just one touch
