When does the fun start?

I hate to be "that guy" but seriously, I cant find anywhere to go, I just got access to Raya Lucaria and I cant beat Lucaria, I dont want to kill Greyoll because thats not fun, and I cant go anywhere else. Do I rune farm until im god? Do I just suck it up and kill Greyoll for the runes? Do I just get good? Help

If you're already at Raya Lucaria and you're not having any fun yet, the game is probably not for you.

The fun starts when you start to open your mind to it.

Some find difficulty to be fun, while others find easy wins to be fun.

Maybe the game is not for you at its current state or your current state of mind.

There are several places to go in this game, and there are an unlimited amount of resources for you to learn how to find them.

If you feel like farming runes until the game is easy enough for you to progress, then go ahead.

Ive gone through all of the south peninsula, ohio, and Ligma Grave, Me looking at my map I realize I could just go north past Lucaria. Thanks!

tbh, it just might not be your kind of game, like you can be good at souls games and think they are unfun or be terrible and love them (the git gud mentality is a cancer in the souls community) raya can be hard with some builds so that might be the case

if you wouldve done everything in that three areas you would be way to high level for Lucaria, espeially because caelid comes AFTER Lucaria from balance

like xcom 2 war of the chosen with all dlc? i hated it couldnt get anywhere

Your completely right. And its made me realize i've been treating this game like its linear. And its not. I need to play this game like BotW and Hollow Knight. And actually try instead of "run past everything and die to boss" I will get good. Try not to farm runes. And win. I'm sure the game will speed up if I actually get good. Thanks

i mean for for you doesn't have to do with difficulty and more the expected experience.

you sound like they may just not like the souls-borne formula possibly cause alot of people like it from the start. i was dumb enough to go to Caelid first and was to dumb/stubborn to turn around my first character... IT WAS GREAT :D

honestly that can be a misguided look because what if you put all your levels into endurance, you might still have a rough time. that said i feel like ive heard 50-60? im dumb and dont use healing or level vigor so maybe dont listen to me ;)

Yeah like I started with Demon's Souls way back and actually platinumed it. Then I beat Dark Souls 1,2 and 3. So I was experienced going into Elden Ring and didn't find it hard aside from a couple bosses.
