Is there a way to dodge-fu that annoying belly slap from the Godskin Noble?

A sadistic friend of mine put me up to this no-damage attempt on the Godskin duo in the Spiritcaller cave, but for the life of my i can't figure out how not to get belly ♥♥♥♥♥ slapped in my face. Had to use an Uplifting Aromatic to survive it:

I checked some videos on youtube to see if some pro managed to avoid it but the only one i saw used hit and run tactics with Quickstep which i didn't really like. I'm guessing because of the low damage it's just something you are meant to eat and move on.

I think, you have to anticipate it as part of the typical move series. Or you have reaction times of an animal

It's not really that big of a deal my friends were taunting me that i couldn't do it but it was mostly in jest and it increasingly looks like it cannot be done one way or another (unless you have super human reflexes) so they can shove it, haha. Bastards.

i usually just dodge into it and avoid it with that, you can also run in a circle with him and be fine

Hmm, I think it's not clear, is it about the rolling attack? This can be dodged into it and running in circles.
I thought it's about the almost instant belly slap, where he extends he's body shortly. This is very tough IMO

Yes i'm talking about that quick belly slap, not the rolling thingy. It doesn't do a whole lot of damage but it's annoyingly difficult to avoid. I checked the Thingfishy video and he says to roll on the side, which would be great if he just didn't do it out of nowhere after you deal damage to him, where you have little possibility to actually react.

Hot damn, this guy managed to dodge it, but it seems he was waiting for it and in the main he is using hit and run tactics instead of fishing for parries like i'm doing:

I did try this as i noticed he always seems to do it at a certain point but all i've managed to accomplish is get him to lock me into an endless fencing combo and then out of frustration i got close again only to get belly slapped for my troubles.

Either way, it seems the only way is to actually try to fish it out of him while keeping enough distance to actually roll out of it but close enough to trigger it.

I need to see if i still have a back up save of the Volcano Manor version so i can try it on that one instead of having to go through the Apostle every time.

By belly slap, do you mean the one that comes with a quick explosion that sends your character flying into the air (i.e. Noble Presence)?

How I handle it, is once he’s in his second phase, just don’t stand directly in front of him, especially after he’s winding down from a move.
Others have already said you pretty much have to anticipate him doing it, if you’re right in front of him, so justs rbait out his other moves, and get behind him while he does those moves to then bait the tail swipe, which you can roll behind him again and get another attack in while he repositions.
