Controller drifting
When i play the game and move my left stick to left or right my character would sometimes keep going in the same direction without any input, it happens randomly at different times and this is the only problem in Elden Ring, it works fine in other games, does anyone know any solution?

Already tested on those diagnose sites, no drifting at all?
Open Elden Ring, recognize the issue then make the diagnose see if it persists outside the game
If its a light drift you could increase the deadzone of the analogs on steam big picture configs, its a good shot to see if it settles

I really think the deadzone of Elden Ring is not as wide as your other games, just brainstorming here

Yeah i tested it, more than once, as i said this only happens in this game, and it's very strange drifting, it can go on for like 2-3 seconds or keep going until i try to stop it by pulling in other direction, this can be very frustrating in some jumping areas

What about the deadzone configs, figured it out or need any help?

Yeah, i found it, will try adjusting it and hope that it will help, thank you for advice

what controller is it? most if not all of the official controllers of the latest consoles will start drifting after around 400 hours of usage (obviously it depends on how much you use the analogs for the games you play).
to fix it, first of all try increasing the deadzone with either steam's controller settings or with DS4Windows (if your controller isn't an xbox one).

if that's not enough, please don't waste money buying a new controller yet. chances are that by opening it up (carefully) and just cleaning the analog's potentiometer, the issue will be solved. there are plenty of tutorials on youtube.
if even that doesn't work, you can try replacing the potentiometer. they cost very little, I bought 10 for less than 5€ including shipping, from ebay. better than spending another 50-60$ for a new controller.

if you do decide to buy a new controller... consider looking for an unofficial one that uses "hall effect" analog sensors, which can't drift because of the technology they use. don't give more money to the ones who deliberately decided to put inadequate hardware parts in their products just to sell more.
this isn't a baseless accusation, by the way. for example, sony's new PS5 "pro" controller has modular, replaceable analogs... which cost 20$ each. and guess what? the hardware parts of the analog itself are exactly the same. so they, too, will start drifting after roughly 400 hours of usage. if that isn't planned obsolescence I don't know what it is.

People have an issue where seemingly random stuff plugged into USB will cause drifting in Elden Ring, stuff like having a digital camera plugged in. I think the game constantly checks stuff for inputs in a way most other games don't, which is why it happens in ER and not other games.

If you have anything plugged into USB ports, try unplugging it and see if that helps

Thanks for the info, my controller is Dualshock 4, i don't think that i've used it more than 400 hours, but i hope the deadzone will fix it

only my controller was plugged, nothing else

Is it a wired controller? I had the same issue with Logitech F310 wireless controller, switched to the same one but wired and the problem went away.

If it's a mild drift and caused by the potentiometer open the controller and put some 90% Isopropyl alcohol on both potentiometers of both stick then work them in a circle so the potentiometers clean themself. The alcohol will evaporate quickly so you could re douse it for a second go. When you're done leave it open for a few minutes to make sure it dries out, you can also heat it up a bit with a hair drying to speed up evaporation but not too close or you'll melt the plastic.

Just go slow when you open the controller, the left and right buttons are spring loaded and the springs can go flying...

I bought a used DS4 controller a while back and i fixed it with the alcohol trick.
Don't use other types of alcohol as it can damage plastics.

maybe it tries to detect hacks from external devices, i dunno rly
now that you mentioned, my controller dont work properly when connected on the frontal USB door next to my headphones

to sum it up: try the back USBs
