Best magic INT staff mid to late game
So I've been using the meteorite staff since the beginning and it's time for a change.

I don't really want to carry multiple staves around, I know that for example the lusat staff is best if you wanna blast comet azur.

I'm interested in the best overall staff even if it's a little weaker in some areas where others shine.

From what I've gathered is the Carian regal scepter, can some experts here confirm or deny that?

Thanks.

P.s. I can get it to +8 right now, I assume that's enough to overtake the meteorite staff?

I'm most definitely NOT an expert...
But from what I gather it depends on the sort of sorcery you want to use most... somewhat.

Apparently you can wield the staff with the best sorcery scaling in your main hand, use a second staff with a passive boost skill in your off-hand, and benefit from both of them while firing sorceries.
Also apparently if you get two copies of the same passive buff skill, they stack ... but I'm nowhere close to NG+ so I can't get a second Staff of Loss for glorious Night Comet spam yet. :mhwhelp:

But yeah. I've got that one that uses 1.5x FP and it hits pretty hard, but I can't spam anything with it, so I'm still using Meteorite + Staff of Loss. Strong Rock Sling + Strong Night Comet. No strong Ambush Shard though... sad times.

And I've also gathered the same as you about that Regal Staff. That will probably be what I'm aiming to get hold of... but I still haven't upgraded my SoL past the MS yet.

Yeah I know different staff for different perks
But I want 1 staff that I will carry with me always. Other slots are filled with weapons and I don't want to fat roll lol

Carian Regal Scepter is best at 69+ INT, Academy Glintstone Staff is best with <69 INT

Carian Regal Scepter if you have the stats for it.
Lusat's Glintstone Staff if you like spending 50% more FP for a bit more damage.
Prince of Death's Staff if you happen to get a bad NG+ fever.

Keep in mind that staffs which give a bonus to a specific spell type don't have to be used to cast the spell. You get the bonus just by keeping the staff equipped. If you, for instance, cast Night Comet with Carian Regal Scepter while having Staff of Loss in your other hand then the spell still deals 30% more damage.

Owww is that how it works. So in that case you only need to upgrade the Carian Regal Scepter and keep whatever other staff you want the bonus from at level 1?

This is basically how I did the majority of my playthrough. Double-staffed. No melee armament.

I started no melee at all but it seems I like swords aswell lol I even put 20 in strength to also hold the jelly fish shield cause I like the look but it's not very practical cause to much double fisting and switching

Yeah, the switching got tedious for me as well. Also, equip load. I liked my double-staff + heavy armor look, and I couldn't do that with too many weapon slots filled in. But nothing wrong with making a battle mage. I wasn't going for that but I did mess around with it for a while. It's very viable and probably easier to play. I also wanted to not use repeat weapons for future characters. I will make a specific Str-Int character at some point.
