Like, if you have (for example)
MH1 shield
MH2 str weapon
MH3 shield
And you level up strength, it’ll show you an increase in MH2 because the attribute you’re leveling affects said weapon in said slot
So for you, I'd guess the 1st number is biggest because it's actually a weapon, 2nd is empty fist (punch damage), and 3rd is a shield/staff/non-upgraded weapon, or something like that.
As Sparhawk 57 said, it doesn't matter what slot something is in, it all acts the same no matter where something is
Nah. It’s just showing you which particular item is being affected in which slot. Equip slots have no relevance when leveling up
