Best sword/weapon for a mage

I have moonveil and uchigatana but am always looking for something nice to compliment my build. Currently almost finished with the quest to get the darkmoon Greatsword but idk if it's any good.

What are the top 5 weapons (not staffs) for mages in your opinions?

Carian Knights sword or sword of night and flame cant be beat imo, but there are more fun options out there, such as helphens steeple and the dark moon greatsword. A LOT of weapons have good int scaling with the cold infusion as well if you want to do a frozen sorcerer type playthrough

Been using the Carian Knight sword on my current run. Having fun with it. The weapon art can hit hard once you learn when it is safe to use it. Also the special R2 block while charging is kindof neat though I wouldn't rely on it too much as the chip damage still can get you.

That makes sense. Most things not upgraded will be unusable. You seem to be fairly deep in the game.

How about the Dragonscale blade, it's ice and lightning? It's a katana aswell so I can easily use it with my other 2 katanas.

Any cold infused katana would be stronger and have more frost build up.

I did try it on my last playthrough to change a bit and i did love it. Nebula is great for melting bosses, you got a small cleave that doesnt cost any FP and the melee moveset is nice and fast. Might not be the most powerful INT weapon, but definetely it got the job done and is the most fun to use.

I upgraded it to +8 now. Seems alright xD
